These stories were initiated and written for those members of my family. They were originally penned to serve as children's stories for parents and young ones alike to reread and continue to perceive the great beauty of nature. However, they are more closely related to Environmental Stories, while they still last . . . These stories are written by a Bear. They reveal themselves under a different format than what would be expected. After all, being a Bear has a different outlook and perspective. And, for those who speak the language of a Bear, "One Word Says It All . . . GRRRR" GRRRR!

Known affectionately as Grandpa Bear, the author of Grandpa Bear’s Story: Through The Eye Of A Bear, now returns with a new and compelling voice in LONG CALL — BLACK WEATHER. Born in York, Pennsylvania, Bear’s journey has woven through the natural world, the mechanical and philosophical realms, and the profound work of physical and emotional healing.

With academic roots in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Physics, and a life shaped by mechanics, nature, and introspection, Bear brings a unique lens to his writing—one steeped in the rhythm of the earth and the resilience of the human spirit. His work in physical therapy has deepened his understanding of healing, both physical and spiritual.

In this latest offering, Bear expands his storytelling beyond the environmental fables of his earlier work, venturing into deeper themes of survival, connection, and transformation. Still guided by the symbolic strength of the Bear—protector, guide, and healer—his writing invites readers to listen closely, feel deeply, and perhaps, answer a long call of their own.

Wow, this sounds absolutely fascinating! 😍 I love stories that blend history, mythology, and the supernatural, and you've done such a wonderful job creating a premise that immediately draws readers in. The journey of the ancient battle axe through different eras is so unique, and I can only imagine the adventure that unfolds along the way. I would honestly love to see Long Call Black Weather adapted into a movie, or even just a cinematic film, because it already feels like it belongs on the big screen. Wishing you every success with this incredible book. You've created something truly special! 👏😍

Also the house in this story is real and may be for sale.... There are many things here that are for real or present themselves to be thought of accordingly.

Gayle S. I THANK You for your wonderful comments. It makes all the effort worthwhile. Although the Axe is fictitious, many of the other details are correct. The girl on the cover is a close friend who I vowed world wide attention but she just laughed. The house is also real and is called the Elmwood Mansion in York, Pa. If you google "The Elmwood Mansion in York Pa" you will get some background on the facility, much of which I actually prepared and presented as I lived there. The red rocks in Cape Cod are/were real also. In my opinion they were from the ballast of the vessel that Thorvald sailed. He was probably the first ship wreck on Cape Cod waters with a cracked keel. Years ago when I began this story, I received a newspaper clipping that the local newspaper had published in the Provincetown vicinity. It told a story of red rocks being found on what I would recall to be the lee side of the very tip of Cape Cod. That would be directly across the bay from what is now Provincetown. However most Geologists recognize that rocks are not on the upper strata of terrain at that point of the Cape. So where did the rocks come from??? My guess is they came from the repair of Thorvald's vessel. Afterall the entire lower part of his ship had to be replaced/repaired. And Yes, the vessel belonged to his Father, Eric the Red. Eric had this vessel built in Norway before Eric was evicted from Norway for murderous ordeals. Red rocks of this type are found there at the Norway local. AGAIN...Thank you for your wonderful comments !!!!! Rich.

I’m really glad I purchased this book. It’s different from most novels I’ve read, blending ancient Norse lore with modern-day suspense in a very creative way. Definitely recommended for readers who enjoy mystical adventures. 😍😍

Thank you Brett. The house is real and located at 400 Elmwood Blvd in York, Pa. I lived there as noted in the story. Many of the details are true. The stained glass window does exist on the second story of the back of the house. It was such a joy to live there.
